Dubai is the second largest of the seven Emirates which make up the United Arab Emirates and ranks as the country's leading commercial center. Abu Dhabi, the federal capital, Sharjah, Ajman, Umm Al Quwain, Ras Al Khaimah and Fujairah are the other six Emirates.

Lying on the blue waves on the Southern Gulf and backed by the majestic desert, Dubai offers visitors year round sun shine and five star luxury plus the adventure of a unique Arabian experience. Dubai is a place of fascinating contrasts, a distinctive blend of modern city and timeless desert, East and West, old and new. From the holiday makers, that are simply seeking a relaxing break, away from clouds and crowds, to the active tourist looking for a new and an exciting experience, the city has superb facilities for sports, shopping, dinning and entertainment.

Location and Area
Dubai is located on the Southern shore of the Gulf in the South-Eastern path of the Arabian peninsula. It lies 55 16 East and 25 15 North. The total area of the Emirates is 3,885 sq.km.

Climate
Dubai has a sub-tropical arid climate. Temperatures range from 10 C to 30 C in winter and can reach as high as 48 C in summer. Rainfall is predominantly in winter and amounts to 13cm annually.

Clothing
Light weight summer clothing can be worn for most of the year, but the temperature can drop quite sharply at night during the winter. At the pool or on the beaches, trunks, swimsuits, shorts or bikinis are quite acceptable, but when in the city, care should be taken not to give offense by wearing clothing which may be considered revealing.

Language
The national language is Arabic, but English is widely used in business.

Currency
The monitory unit is the Dirham (Dh.) which is divide into 100 fils. The official exchange rate is USD$ 1 = Dh 3.675. All major credit cards are generally accepted in main hotels and large shops.

Alcohol
Alcohol is freely available in hotel, restaurants and bars, but not outside the hotels.

Business : 08:00 - 13:00 Hrs and 16:00 - 19:00 Hrs ( Sat to Wed )
Some companies work from 08:00 - 17:30 Hrs with a one hour lunch break. Many companies close at 13:00 Hrs on Thursday.
Government Offices: 07:30 Hrs to 14:30 Hrs ( Sat to Wed )
Banks : 08:00 to 13:00 Hrs ( Sat to Wed ) 08:00 - 12:00 hrs (Thursday)
Thursday afternoon and Friday is the weekend in the Islamic World.

City Tour of Dubai


We will visit amazing, and picturesque landmarks, that combine fabulous architecture with the rich culture of the Middle East. Our tour includes visits to:

  • Burj Al Arab, the award winning, and the only seven star hotel in the world.
  • A panoramic look at Palm Island. The First man made island in the UAE.

  • Jumeirah Mosque. The most photographed building in Dubai, beautiful by day and by night.

  • Sheikh Zayed Road. Where you will see the tall towers of Dubai's Skyline, including Emirates Towers the 10th highest building in the world.

  • Sheikh Saeed Al Maktoum's House, which dates back to 1896, is a wonderful example of Islamic Design and is now home to several interesting galleries.

  • Alongside Sheikh Saeed's house, the Heritage Village, which incorporates many historic attractions including demonstrations of pottery, weaving, cookery and pearl diving.

  • Bastakia, to view some of the oldest buildings in Dubai with their traditional wind towers, (one of the earliest forms of air conditioning).

  • The 150-year old Al Fahidi Fort, home to Dubai Museum where you can experience Dubai's history as a trading and pearl diving Centre.

  • The textile Souq. Where you can see exquisite fabrics to suit every taste, and wonder around the small winding alleys of old Dubai enjoying the sights and sounds of history.

    We will complete our tour with a "Golden experience". You will be given the opportunity to explore the gold market and see for yourself, why Dubai is known as "THE CITY OF GOLD."

    Sharjah, the city of Culture, is located only a short distance from Dubai. UNESCO has elected Sharjah as the Cultural City of the Arab world for 1998. During our tour we will visit:

  • The spectacular King Faisal Mosque.
  • Al Ithad Monument.
  • The Rulers Old Palace.
  • The Natural History Museum and Archaeological Museum.

  • The "BLUE SOUK", one of the most well known of Sharjah's Souqs. Located on the edge of the lagoon, with its beautiful mosaics and traditional style.

  • Another souq worth visiting is Majarrah Souq. It is built using Mosaic and has a Golden Dome.

  • Sharjah Wild Life Park. Visit and spend 45 minutes.

  • Ajman, another neighboring city. A visit to Ajman’s impressive museum, housed in an old fort, which depicts traditional life before the discovery of oil.

    Abu Dhabi is the capital and largest of the seven Emirates. Known as the third most beautiful city. Abu Dhabi, or the father of the gazelle as it is known, is situated about 170Kms South West of Dubai. This full day tour would include: Driving past the world’s largest man made port of Jebel Ali Free Zone. We will visit the Petroleum Exhibition, which offers an audio-visual presentation covering the development of the city. Al Husa Fort, the original home of the rulers. Then to Abu Dhabi’s magnificent Corniche and the old harbor to witness the dramatic view from Breakwater Point. Lunch will be provided on the wonderful Floating Restaurant.

    Known as the Oasis or Garden city of the Emirates. Al Ain is located 140Kms from Dubai at the foot of the mountains, in this fertile land; Caravans have stopped to rest since time immemorial. This full day tour offers an opportunity to visit: The ancient oasis of Buraimi. The archeological sites at Hili some of which date back more than 5,000 years. The Hili Fun City amusement park with its wide range of rides and amusements; picnic area, ice ring, landscape gardens and mini train.

    Al Ain Zoo, with its flock of miniature penguins and the world’s largest herd of the endangered Arabian Oryx. The Ain Al Fayda resort built around and a natural hot spring. Of particular interest is the drive up to Jebel Hafeet, the UAE’s highest mountain peak. This winding road with hairpin bends offers spectacular views over the surrounding area and red coloured desert.

    Fujairah, the Jewel of Arabia. Nestling on the shores of the Indian Ocean on the eastern coast. Our full day tour would include: Drive through Sharjah, Dhaid, and Masafi town, where you can buy traditional pots and carpets. Visit Bithna fort, built in the 16TH century by the Portuguese Wadi Al Hail. Fujairah Heritage Village and Ain Al Madhab Gardens. The quaint fishing village of Dibbah, Badiya Mosque, the oldest place of worship in the UAE, also known as the ‘Othman Mosque’. Buffet Lunch will be included at the Oceanic Hotel.

    Unique, Romantic, and above all a great Adventure!

    An opportunity to sit beneath the beautiful starlit sky, after watching the dazzling sunset. Just a few of the moments of magic in the Arabian Desert. But first our experienced drivers will give you the ride of your life over the mountainous sand dunes, the ultimate in roller coaster rides. We will stop while you could take photographs of the natural beauty of the Arabian Desert and see the camels in their natural habitat. We will then proceed to the campsite. This adventure includes:

    • Drive through the desert along the Hatta Road
    • 20-30 minutes Dune Driving
    • Stop for photo opportunity of the sunset
    • Drive to the Campsite
    • Camel Rides
    • Henna Painting
    • Unlimited soft drinks, tea, coffee and mineral water
    • Arabic sweets freshly prepared while you wait
    • BBQ Dinner (Vegetarian Food also available on request)
