If you want to travel inland, there is far more to see than just desert. One alternative you may like to consider is the Al Ain City TourAl Ain is also known as the “Oasis City” of the Emirates. It is 140 kms from Dubai but you will travel there in comfort with Funtours. Al Ain is the second city of Abu Dhabi and the largest inland city in the whole of the UAE. Its population has grown beyond 500,000. The dry desert air provides a welcome contrast to the coastal humidity hence the increase in the city’s popularity as a tourist retreat. Many residents of Abu Dhabi City have second homes in this inland city and make regular trips throughout the year. It sits below the tallest mountain in the Region, Jebel Hafeet, which rises to 1,340 meters above sea level. It is a setting that Sheikh’s have enjoyed for holiday breaks for generations; you now have the chance to enjoy what they always have.

What can you expect?

  • See all the different kinds of wildlife at Al Ain Zoo.
  • Be amazed at the largest Camel Market in UAE where you may interact with the camel by feeding them.
  • Take in the beautiful scenery of the Green Mubazzarah Park which allows you to see the greenery of Al Ain. This place also has hot springs that you may enjoy dipping your feet.
  • Stand ontop of Jebel Hafeet, the tallest mountain in the region rises 1,340 meters above sea level. At the mountain top, it allows you to overlook some part of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and Oman.

Al Ain City Tour offers the pleasurable experience of strolling along the tree lined avenues, through the Oasis while visiting cultural sites and museums. One of the real pleasures for locals and visitors alike is to sit in the traditional cafes drinking coffee and enjoying Shisha. There is alcohol available but only in the large hotels and a sports club. There are strict planning regulations aimed at retaining the ‘green concept’ within the city. No building can be above four storeys, meaning it retains its welcoming appeal. There are modern entertainment facilities as well: Fun City, a zoo and a golf course.  Green Mubazzarah with its hot springs and swimming pools is a must, while Al Ain Paradise is the world’s largest garden according to the Guinness Book of World Records. There are three main malls, Al Ain Mall in the centre of town, Al-Jimi Mall in the Al-Jimi district, and Bawadi Mall in the Al-Khrair District, all of which you can visit during the Al Ain City Tour.

The tour mixes history with sightseeing, the chance to soothe your feet in hot springs and get close to rare white lions and tigers in Al Ain Zoo. There are spectacular views on the road up to Jebel Hafeet; the hot water springs are at the foot of the UAE’s largest mountain. In recent years several water sport activities have been added to the attractions: kayaking, rafting and surfing. At the Museum there are some excellent archaeological exhibits that date back 5,000 years. You should also make sure you see the gold pendants. There is a recreation of the Grand Hili tomb and its rock carvings which are of interest to everyone, not just historians, as this site dates all the way back to the Bronze Age. The Camel Market is the largest in the UAE and it has been renovated to become one of the most popular stops of the tour. This is a beautiful city, greener than you could ever imagine in such an area. You will certainly enjoy the Al Ain City Tour and will cherish the memories you make there.

A guide can bring life to even dullest of tour and if tour is adventurous then it’s like icing on cake. It was amazing experience with fun tours and our guide cum friend Noor Khan is best driver to go with. We went for city and desert combination tour. He has good knowledge of city and gave us ample time to visit and spend time at key attractions. But highlight was sand dune bashing where it was thrilling drive and equally safe. The desert camp was average and food was too bland for my taste. That aside a really worthy and fun trip with fun tours.

We visited Dubai in April second week. Our experience of City tours was awesome. We booked with Fun Tours one day in advance. The driver Noor Khan picked us up from Ibn Battuta Mall at 3.30PM. He was very friendly and a good guide. Dune bashing experience was really great. Initially kids were a bit scared but the driver made them feel comfortable by taking us through small dunes and then slowly increased the speed and made the dune bashing experience a memorable one.The kids ended up saying “Once more”. Quad bike ride in the sand was also unforgettable.
Photo points were good and Noor Khan is also an amazing photographer.Kids got some lifetime pics of sunset and sand. The time spent at the camp was amazing. We returned to hotel at 10.30PM
Overall wonderful experience.I surely would recommend Fun Tours and especially driver Noor Khan.
